Florida couple collects win, jackpot rises to $92 million
The winners have finally come forward! Raymond and Robyn Collier, from Florida, have collected their half of a whopping $414 million jackpot. Their winnings plans are fairly modest. The couple say they will use their windfall to invest, travel and see as many Notre Dame American football games they could.
The lucky Quick Pick ticket was bought at a grocery story on Merritt Island, according to Lottery officials. That means that the couple are not the only ones in luck: selling a jackpot ticket gets the lucky retailer a $100,000 bonus prize.
The twosome could not first believe that they had won. Speaking to media while collecting her win, Collier said: “We didn’t know we had won until the next morning when the numbers were on the news. I paused the TV and ran to get the ticket to double check the numbers and when I realised they all matched I jumped off the couch in excitement and told Raymond we had won.”
Moyer was not as easily convinced. “I didn’t believe her until I saw the store where we purchased the ticket on the news,” he said.
Moyer and Collier won on the draw of March the 18th. This week’s draw sees a fairly big jackpot up for grabs. The jackpot has rolled over to 92 million dollars. If you would like to have a shot at winning the jackpot, you need to buy your MegaMillions ticket online before 3 am on Wednesday.↩ Go back to news
